Pair of Ernest Race Armchairs designed in 1963. These lounge chairs are made of Yew wood which has a beautiful colour and grain and is rarely seen on furniture from this period. The chairs are part of the Sheppey range which won a Design Centre Award when it was released. The chairs have a stove enamelled steel frame to which the webbing is attached and steel details have been incorporated into the visible mitred joints at the front and back of the arms. The chairs have been completely re-furbished with all new upholstery to a very high standard and finished with a Linwood fabric. Samples available on request. A very comfortable and stylish chair in excellent condition in an unusual combination of materials.
